Not content with winning their league this season, the Wyvern FC Under 13 Hurricanes have now booked their place in a Cup Final as well! They are playing for the Tommy Trayner Under 13 Cup against Wellow on the 15th May with an 11.30am kick off at the Stoneham FC Complex.
Their manager, Darren Sanger, wanted to say a few words about the boys and their accomplishments this season...
"To reach the final is a massive achievement and nothing more than the team deserve after a superb season. Most of the team have been together since under 8s and, as coaches, we have seen them develop into incredible, young individuals who are now seeing the rewards of their hard work and loyalty to the club.
To reach the final we have faced some tough competition in Redbridge Wanderers and very tight games against Winchester City Red and AFC Hiltingbury Youth, respectfully.
The team have just come off the back of a very successful season in Division 5, achieving promotion to Division 4 for next season. The stand out part of our season has been the amount of goals we have scored as well as conceding very few. This has given the team great confidence in their ability to manage the game and support each other in all areas of the pitch.
Being part of Wyvern FC Under 13 Hurricanes this year has been a truly unforgettable experience. We have a wonderful set of very talented players but, more importantly, we have a set of funny, witty, hard working, professional individuals that we, as coaches, are so incredibly proud of.
For the final, all we ask is that the players go out on the pitch in front of their family and friends and enjoy themselves."
We would welcome all our club members to come along to the game and show your support for the boys as they look to secure 'the double'!
Good luck and enjoy your moment boys!!
